Hi, I’m Emily!

Thanks so much for checking out my site — I am honored you are considering me to capture a special milestone for you.

Here’s a little about me: I currently reside in Central VA and specialize in portrait and family sessions. In my free time you'll probably find me with my husband Peter in a local coffee shop or at home watching New Girl. I have a cat named Piper who is the cutest, and I love Disney, the enneagram, and Target (who doesn’t?!).

My overall goal is to make clients feel as comfortable as possible during sessions. I am not afraid to make a crazy face or do a funny dance to get a baby to laugh. I will make sure your hair looks good, your wrist is hair-tie-free, and your arms don’t look awkward. I equally love shooting and editing sessions. It is SO FUN to send off galleries to clients and see their responses! It is so important to invest in a photographer who cares about the memories being captured and the people in front of the lens, and I do my absolute best to serve my clients.

Before taking on a full-time marketing job, I spent 3 years photographing weddings. I have photographed 30+ weddings in Ohio, Virginia, New York, North Carolina and beyond, and I thrive on wedding days! I am 100% in my element, and I happily do everything I can to keep the day organized. While I currently don’t take on many weddings, I still enjoy photographing them and would love to be considered for yours!

HOW I GOT STARTED

When I was 14 years old, I bought my first DSLR camera all on my own (to the right is one of the first pictures I took with my trusty Canon Rebel T1i). I constantly photographed wherever I could and whatever/whoever I could. When I was 16, I decided that I wanted to pursue it as a career, and I started taking senior and family photos for friends and eventually started photographing weddings.
